Where to Dispose of Old Tyres in Perth (Free in 2026)
Where to Dispose of Old Tyres in Perth (Free)
Old tyres are a regulated waste in Western Australia — you cannot put them in your kerbside bin, and dumping them is a $5,000+ fine. The good news: there are several free disposal options in Perth if you know where to look.
Option 1: Buy new tyres — get free disposal
Every set of 4 new tyres fitted at Tyre On Sale (Unit 7/21 Kewdale Rd, Welshpool) includes free disposal of your old tyres. No extra charge, no environmental levy.
Option 2: Council drop-off centres
Most Perth councils accept tyres at their resource recovery centres:
- Tamala Park (North metro) — small fee per tyre
- Henderson Waste Recovery Park — fee per tyre
- Red Hill Waste Management Facility — fee per tyre
- City of Canning Transfer Station — limited tyre intake
Always call ahead — fees and limits change.
Option 3: Tyre Stewardship Australia recyclers
TSA-accredited recyclers in WA shred old tyres into rubber crumb for playgrounds, roads and sports surfaces. Look for the green TSA logo.
What NOT to do
- Do not burn tyres — toxic smoke, illegal under WA EPA rules
- Do not dump tyres — $5,000+ fine plus clean-up costs
- Do not put in kerbside bin — will not be collected
