Best Tyres in Perth for 2026 — A Local Fitter's Honest Guide
Best Tyres in Perth for 2026
We fit hundreds of tyres a week at our Welshpool workshop, and we see firsthand which brands survive Perth roads — long highway drives, summer heat, gravel runs north, and the occasional kerb strike on suburban streets.
Here is what we honestly recommend in 2026.
Best premium passenger tyre — Michelin Primacy 4+
Quietest ride, longest tread life, excellent wet grip. Costs more upfront but typically lasts 60,000-80,000 km in Perth conditions.
Best mid-range passenger tyre — Continental UltraContact
German engineering at half the Michelin price. Outstanding wet braking, great fuel economy.
Best budget passenger tyre — Maxxis Premitra HP5
Incredible value. Quiet, decent wear life, real warranty. Beats all the unknown Chinese brands at the same price.
Best 4WD all-terrain — BFGoodrich KO2
The benchmark. Three-peak snowflake rated, 3-ply sidewall, will go anywhere from Karijini to Cape Le Grand.
Best ute highway tyre — Bridgestone Dueler H/T
If your ute does 90% bitumen, you do not need an A/T. The Dueler is quiet, fuel-efficient and lasts.
Best performance tyre — Michelin Pilot Sport 5
For anyone with an AMG, M-Sport, RS or hot hatch. Grip is in another league.
What to avoid
Unbranded Chinese tyres sold at suspiciously cheap prices online. We see them fail early — uneven wear, tread separation, terrible wet grip.
